An Ode to Nida Fazli

نزدیکیوں میں دور کا منظر تلاش کر
(Nazdikiyaan mein door ka manzar talaash kar)

جو ہاتھ میں نہیں ہے وہ پتھر تلاش کر
(Jo haath mein nahi hai woh patthar talaash kar)

سورج کے ارد گرد بھٹکنے سے فائدہ
(Sooraj ke ird gird bhatakne se faida)

دریا ہوا ہے گم تو سمندر تلاش کر
(Dariya hua hai gum to samandar talaash kar)

تاریخ میں محل بھی ہے حاکم بھی تخت بھی
(Tareekh mein mahal bhi hai haakim bhi takht bhi)

گمنام جو ہوئے ہیں وہ لشکر تلاش کر
(Gumnaam jo hue hain woh lashkar talaash kar)

کوشش بھی کر امید بھی رکھ راستہ بھی چن
(Koshish bhi kar umeed bhi rakh raasta bhi chun)

پھر اس کے بعد تھوڑا مقدر تلاش کر
(Phir uske baad thoda muqaddar talaash kar)


Translation:
Amidst the closeness, seek a view afar,
If no hand to hold, find a stone or star,
Wandering around the sun, there's gain and more,
Lost in the river, seek the sea's shore.

History holds palaces, rulers, and thrones,
Yet armies vanished, lost in the unknown zones,
Keep hope and effort, select a righteous way,
And destiny shall unveil, just not today.
